Course Three of A Hands-On Moxibustion Workshop: Nourishing Life with Direct Moxibustion
Nourishing Life is the Chinese medical specialty of helping the bodyy to age without unnecessary deterioration. It has been practiced for more than 2,000 years and was emphasized in the Huang Di Nei Jing. Moxibustion has been one of the favored modalities for nourishing life since the Tang dynasty. In this section of the class, we will discusss the history, theory, and philosophy of nourishing life, learn two specific methods using direct moxibustion, and practice using direct moxibustion to nourish life.

About your instructor:
Lorraine Wilcox has been a licensed acupuncturist in California since 1989. She is on the faculty of three schools in the Los Angeles area and is the author of two books on moxibustion (Moxibustion: The Power of Mugwort Fire and Moxibustion: A Modern Clinical Handbook). Lorraine loves to find different moxibustion techniques from the old Chinese books and try them out. She also likes some of the modern innovations in moxibustion from Korea and Japan, particularly the ones that do not involve electricity.
