Bob Flaws begins this class with an overview of Chinese medical theories describing sleep and wakefulness and, based upon these theories, he then outlines the key Chinese medical mechanisms of insomnia and describes acupuncture and Chinese medicinals protocols for the most commonly seen patterns. In particular, Bob discusses the issue of proper timing of acupuncture and Chinese medicinals for achieving the best therapeutic effects. He also discusses a pattern thatís not usually listed in textbooks even though itís commonly seen in real-life clinical practice. This is the little-known pattern which accounts for most stubborn, enduring, and recalcitrant insomnia which has not responded to all the usual Chinese remedies.
