In 1989, Bob Damone, M.S., L.Ac, graduated from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s first Master’s degree program. In addition to his studies in TCM, Bob has studied Chinese medicine and Chinese language in both China and Taiwan. Bob has practiced in a variety of clinical settings including private offices and three TCM colleges in San Diego and New York. A well-respected didactic and clinical faculty member in each of the colleges he has served, Bob has played a pivotal role in curriculum development, faculty development, and departmental leadership; as such, he has made a significant contribution to TCM education in the United States. A long-term advocate for the importance of learning medical Chinese language, Bob is also a translator, giving him the ability to offer his students information directly from Chinese source texts. Working as a translator Bob has translated such major TCM texts as Ten Lectures on the Use of Formulas from the Personal Experience of Jiao Shu De published by Paradigm Publications and served as Senior Editor for A Concise Chinese Materia Medica, also published by Paradigm. Bob is also the author of Principles of Andrology in Chinese Medicine published by Blue Poppy Press, the first major text book of its kind in English. In recent years Bob has appeared at numerous continuing education conferences where he continues to be received as a knowledgeable, engaging, and approachable speaker. Having worked in both private and institutional clinical and academic Chinese medical settings, Bob is an excellent resource for students and soon-to-be practitioners who are contemplating their future professional direction.
