I'd like to extend a great good welcome to Malia Kirby on her first day as Blue Poppy's newest customer service representative. Malia is a graduate of Boulder SWAC (Southwest Acupuncture College) and has practiced for a couple of years in a variety of settings in Colorado and Missouri. At Boulder SWAC, Malia was one of Jia Yu's star herbal med pupils. People who've been reading the Comments section to this blog may also have figured out that Malia is Shawn Kirby's lovely wife.
So now Blue Poppy has five L.Ac.'s on staff to help you with all your Chinese medicinal questions and needs: Eric (Brand) who'll be coming on full-time in a week or so, Honora, Shawn, Malia, and myself (although they generally keep me away from the customers). This gives us a depth of professional knowledge and experience most other companies cannot match. We can easily say we're an American Chinese medical company owned and staffed by American Chinese medical practitioners for American Chinese medical practitioners. I believe we know this industry from the inside out and from its earliest beginnings in N. America to today. Being practitioners ourselves, we know what our customers are experiencing in clinic and what their needs and problems are. In a word, we're here to help you help your patients. If one of us doesn't know the answer to your question, one of the other of us probably does. So now there should never be a time when you can't speak directly to a professional practitioner if you need to.
...
BTW, for those of you Colorado practitioners in the Boulder-Denver-Ft. Collins area, on Thursday, Dec. 3 we are having an open house for everyone to see our new space and meet the Blue Poppy team. If you come for lunch, we'll have sandwiches and drinks. After lunch, there will be finger foods and drinks. Plus you'll get to see our Blue Poppy store. You'll be surprised by all the new acupuncture supplies we now carry plus Tibetan herbal medicines, Tibetan herbal incense, and even several different Tibetan prayers flags. Besides the food and drinks, there will be special discounts on products and drawings for valuable prizes. So if you can spare the time, please stop by and say hello. We'd love to see you in person.

For the world-o-pracs out there, I look forward to meeting and speaking with you either on the phone or in person, regardless of if it is just to say hello to talk TCM shop!
