How do I log in to the website?

The location of the log-in block has been moved to the upper right hand corner of the page. Enter your user name and password and click sign in. If you are registered at our site it is our recommendation that you log-in as soon as you arrive at the site. After you log in if you are an approved practitioner (you have sent us a copy of your license and we have it on file) the prices of all of our herbal products as well as an Add to Cart button will appear in the Herbal Formulas department of the store. You cannot purchase herbal products without logging in as an approved practitioner.

How do I find a product on the site?

There are two ways to search for a product. The Store Departments are all listed on the left hand side of the page. These departments appear on the left side no matter where you are on the website. You can click on the Store Department that relates to the product for which you are searching and see if you can find it that way. Or, in the center at the top of each page is our new Search function. Above the search box are the areas in our website in which you can search (Books, Herbs, Classes, TCMinfoline and Store). Click on the area in which you want to search, enter the search term and click search. All of the items found will appear below. By clicking TCMinfoline above the search box you can search that area for articles on any disease or TCM pattern that might be in our FREE database.

I don't see any prices in the Herbal Formulas department, what's wrong?

Only approved practitioners may purchase Herbal Formulas from Blue Poppy. To be able to purchase Herbal Formulas you must send us a copy of your license so that we have it on file. Once you are approved and you log in, the prices of all of our herbal products as well as an Add to Cart button will appear. You cannot purchase herbal products without logging in as an approved practitioner.

You must be logged in to access the classes you purchased. To be able to go to the list of classes to which you have access click on the My Account button (below where you logged in or on the left hand side below the list of Store Departments) and find the button on your My Account page that says "Click Here to take your classes or quizzes." How do the tabs below the center panel on each page work?

There are a different number of tabs across the bottom of the center panel on each page. The image in the center panel changes automatically as it moves from tab to tab. If you would like the image to stop at a specific tab, just click on the tab. Included in the text with the image in the center panel are live links. Click on any one of the links to go directly to that area of the site.

If a Store Department has multiple categories (e.g., Herbs has the Originals, Classics and Pediatrics categories) you can jump from one category to the other by using the "jump" menu.

How do I get back to the shopping cart?

At the bottom of the left side is the view cart button. No matter where you are in the site clicking on the view cart button takes you to your shopping cart so that you can see what is in it. Also, at the very bottom of the Store Departments area is a display of the number of items in your cart and the total you've spent. This is another way to keep track of your shopping.

What is the My Account page?

To get to your My Account page you must be logged in. Under where you log in or at the bottom of the Store Departments on the left side is the My Account button. Clicking on the My Account button takes you to a page that has all of the information that you provided when you registered. If you need to change any of your personal information or your user name or password this is where you would do that. In addition, this page contains the access point to any continuing education classes that you purchase and to all of your certificates for the classes you have completed. The certificates will remain on this page so that you can print a copy anytime you need one for re-certification purposes.

What are the boxes with a little + on the right of the center panel?

On the right hand side of the center panel is a new technology we are using to make information more easily accessible. Anyplace you see a category name with a + next to it click on the + to expand the category and see everything that is listed below it. Click on any one of the items displayed below the category head to read the complete text.

How will I know if you are able to ship the item I am ordering?

Next to each product listed in our store departments we now provide the number of units of that product that we currently have in stock. If a product has low inventory please remember that multiple people might be shopping at any moment in time and somebody else might put that product in their cart before you do. If you place more of a given item into your cart than we have in stock, it will appear as a backorder in your cart. You may leave the backordered items in your cart so that we can ship them to you when our inventory is replenished or you may choose to remove the item. You will not be charged for any items backordered until we are able to ship them to you.

Do I have a choice of shippers?

When you checkout you will now have an opportunity to select the way you want your package to be sent to you. You can select FedEx, UPS or U.S. Postal Service. The rates for each of those services will appear when you make your shipper selection. (It takes a bit of time to retrieve that information from the respective websites. Please be patient.) Choose the service you would like (Ground, 2Day, etc.) and then hit continue to complete the checkout process.

I want to use my credit card to pay for my order, how does that work?

In the past when you provided your credit card information at our website we processed the card in our office. We have now automated this process and your card will be charged when you provide all of the required card information and press "Complete Order." There is a slight delay after you press the "Complete Order" button while the processor checks your account. DO NOT press the button a second time to avoid your card being processed more than once.

What is TCMinfoline?

TCMinfoline is the area of our site where you can search through all of the articles and translated research and book excerpts that are in our database. This is a FREE service to which we are adding new material all of the time. Currently there are around 1,000 entries covering all areas of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as some articles on Western medicine in this database. You can access TCMinfoline by clicking on Go in the box below the center panel, by clicking on the listing on the left under Store Departments or by using the search box at the top center of every page on our site.

What is Schools-Faculty/Admin listed below Store Departments?

Below the list of Store Departments is an area on our site called Schools-Faculty/Admin. The Schools-Faculty/Admin area contains information for approved faculty and administrators of TCM schools. There is information about Blue Poppy books and where they fit into the typical curriculum, discount prices for books and herbal products and other information that would be of interest to schools of TCM.  If you are a faculty member or an administrator at a TCM school and you would like to have access to the information in this area please call our Sales Manager JoAnn Pepperell at 800-487-9296.

What is the Blue Poppy Blog-O-Rama?

On a regular basis, members of the Blue Poppy team, such as Bob Flaws, Honora Lee Wolfe, Shawn Kirby, Eric Brand, Bruce Robinson, Greg Sperber, et al. will be posting useful information and insights on this blog. We envision this blog as a place for our authors and teachers to share with our customers their recent findings and observations. In addition, there is a mechanism for readers to leave their own comments and ask questions. So, while not exactly a forum, this blog is meant as a two-way communication among members of the larger Blue Poppy family. We hope you enjoy this new feature of our Website and find the free information it contains useful. We encourage you to check it frequently and to add your own comments and observations.

What is Xpress Shopping?

Xpress Shopping is a new feature that will make shopping much easier for all of our customers. This feature is especially useful for anybody who has shopped with us before and knows exactly what they want…somebody who doesn't need extensive product information to make a purchase decision. When you click on the box below the center panel or on view cart you go to your shopping cart with the store departments listed below. The area below your regular shopping cart that lists the store departments with a + next to them is what we call Xpress Shopping. When you click on the + the department opens. If there are multiple categories in a department, you will then see those with a + next to them. Click the + again and all of the items in that category appear. Click on an item, indicate the quantity in the pop-up window and it appears in your regular shopping cart above. Continue to click on items until you have put everything you want into your cart. This feature eliminates the need to toggle back and forth between the Store Departments and your shopping cart.
