What happens if I do not pass the quiz?

If you do not pass the quiz the first time, you may retake the quiz. It is our recommendation that you take some time to review the materials before you call us to retake the quiz. It will be the same quiz each time so we do not provide you with the questions that were missed until you achieve a passing score of 70% or greater. There is a small fee to retake a quiz, see the chart to left.

What is a Distance Learning program like?

Distance Learning programs are recordings of Blue Poppy’s live seminars. They are taught by Western practitioners of acupuncture and Chinese medicine who are leaders in their field, polished English-language public speakers and professional teachers. The programs can be sent to your home or (the shorter courses) can be taken online.

What do I get with a Distance Learning Program?

You will receive a professionally prepared notebook of information with the instructor’s lecture visuals, supplementary reading material, and for some courses, written homework and case studies. You also will receive a professionally taped recording of the live seminar on your choice of an audio cassette or CD.

Many of the shorter courses (3 hours or less) are available to be taken online. These require Flash Player to view, which can be downloaded for free from our site. The audio portion of the class has been synchronized with the lecture visuals so that the online experience simulates the original live presentation as much as possible. To experience an online class take a free test drive at our site www.bluepoppy.com. Click on Classes for CEUs then click on DL test drive.

How long does it take to complete a course?

The courses are easy to follow and self-paced. The number of CEUs is roughly the number of hours of audio presentation. Your registration in each course is good for six months from your date of purchase. Course One of the Advanced Training in Chinese Medical Gynecology is an exception; you have up to 12 months from your date of purchase to complete it.

How do I earn the CEUs/PDAs?

Once you have completed the course work, there is a short quiz that can be taken online or by mail. A passing grade of 70% or greater is required to earn your CEUs/PDAs and receive your certificate of completion.

What is the difference between Regular Enrollment and Audit Only?

Choose regular enrollment if you wish to earn CEUs/PDAs for your NCCAOM or state recertification. You will receive teacher access via bulletin board, fax or e-mail, annotated feedback on homework and a certificate documenting CEUs/PDAs earned.

Choose audit only if you do not need to earn CEUs/PDAs and are studying simply for your own personal knowledge. This option does not include CEU certificate, teacher support, feedback on performance and there is no homework or test requirement.

How do I take the quiz to earn the CEUs/PDAs?

You can take either a written quiz or you can take the quiz on line at our website. If you would like to receive a written quiz, be sure to tell us when you place your order so that we can include it. If you take a written quiz, you will mail or fax it back to us.

To take a quiz online you will receive a user name and password. Once you receive these, log on to www.bluepoppy.com and click on Classes for CEUs, then click on quizzes. Follow the instructions on the screen. Set aside about 30 minutes when you will not be interrupted because once you start a quiz you cannot stop it and start it again.

How long does it take to receive my certificate of completion?

If you take and pass your quiz online you will receive an e-mailed copy of your certificate the next business day. If you mail your quiz to us it is processed in two business days and the certificate is mailed to you.

What if I need it sooner than that?

We do our best to keep the turn around time as short as possible. If you need a certificate in less time than stated above you must notify us PRIOR to submitting your quiz so we can try to accommodate your needs. We will fax or e-mail certificates at no charge. If you need a hard copy sent overnight, the standard Fed-Ex overnight shipping cost will be charged.

Does Blue Poppy send my paper work to the state or the NCCAOM once I have completed my course(s)?

No, we do not. We will e-mail or mail your certificate of completion to you and it is your responsibility to file the appropriate paperwork with the regulatory agencies.

May I return a Distance Learning course?

Yes, you may return a Distance Learning product if you have not yet listened to the audio portion. On any Distance Learning product that you order, you may open the notebook and look through the materials. However, we do not accept any returns if the shrink wrap on the audio or video portion is broken. Returns and exchanges are accepted within 30 days of purchase only.

What do I do if I lose my certificate?

We will reissue you a certificate within two business days of your request. There is a small administrative fee for each certificate that must be reissued: $5.00 for an emailed certificate and $15.00 for a paper copy sent by mail. If you are requesting a reissue for a certificate issued more than 2 years ago there is an additional fee of $10.00.
